Summary

Searches for messages containing specific text within a Rocket.Chat room and returns the matching messages.

Inputs

• specifyRoomManually — Whether to specify the room ID manually instead of selecting from the list.
• roomId (required) — Select the channel from the list. Choose from the list, or switch to manual mode to enter the ID.
• roomId (required) — The ID of the channel/group.
• searchText (required) — The text to search for in messages.
• returnAll — Whether to return all results or only up to a given limit.
• limit — Max number of results to return.

Output shape

a list of messages matching the search criteria

Results are paginated by default (max 500 items). If Return All is enabled, all matching messages are returned.

Example 1: Find all messages mentioning 'urgent' in the general channel

Resource: Message, Operation: Search, Room: General, Search Text: urgent, Return All: true

Example 2: Retrieve the most recent 10 messages containing 'project update' in a specific channel
