Summary

Download a post’s image or video from a selected Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or LinkedIn account. Supply the post ID and optionally a direct media URL; when the API returns media data, the operation outputs it as binary under the data property.

Inputs

• Platform (required) — Social platform containing the post: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or LinkedIn.
• Platform account (required) — Select the Facebook Page, Instagram account, YouTube channel, or LinkedIn profile to use.
• Post ID (required) — ID of the post to retrieve media from. Use a video ID for YouTube or a post URN for LinkedIn; the UI description points to the List Posts output.
• Media URL — Optional direct URL of the media to download. If omitted, the operation asks the service to resolve media from the post ID.

Output shape

One n8n item per input item, usually with binary media in the data property and JSON metadata.

When the response contains base64 media data, the binary output uses the returned filename and content type when available; JSON includes success, filename, content_type, and size_bytes. If no base64 data is returned, the operation outputs the API response as JSON instead.

Examples

Example 1: Download a post video from YouTube

Select YouTube and the channel, enter the video ID, and leave Media URL blank to resolve the media from the post.

Example 2: Download media from a known direct URL

Select the platform and account, provide the post ID, then enter the direct media URL to use.
