Summary

Fetches messages from a Facebook Messenger or Instagram Direct conversation. Select the platform and its connected account, enter the conversation ID from List Conversations, and optionally set the maximum number of messages to fetch (default 20; range 1–50).

Inputs

• Platform — Facebook Messenger or Instagram Direct; defaults to Facebook.
• Facebook Account (required) — Connected Facebook account to query when Facebook Messenger is selected.
• Instagram Account (required) — Connected Instagram account to query when Instagram Direct is selected.
• Conversation ID (required) — Conversation ID, typically from the List Conversations operation.
• Limit — Maximum number of messages to fetch (1–50; default 20).

Output shape

A list of message items, one per returned message.

Each message is returned as its own n8n item. If the API response does not contain a messages array, the full response is returned as a single item.

Example 1: Fetch the latest messages from a conversation

Choose Facebook Messenger or Instagram Direct, select the corresponding account, provide a Conversation ID from List Conversations, and leave Limit at 20 or set a value from 1 to 50.
