Summary

Post one to four questions to a Home of Agents chat, then optionally wait for answers. Use this to collect a user’s choices during a conversation; for asynchronous prompts, disable waiting and listen for Ask Response events in a Home of Agents Trigger.

Inputs

  • Chat Name or ID (required) — Target chat ID. If left empty, uses chatId or chat_id from input data, or chat.id/message.chatId.
  • Questions (required) — One to four questions, each with non-empty text and at least one option with a label and value. Options are presented as choices; the configured value is returned when selected. Each question can allow free text and skipping. The operation also accepts a questions array from input data when no UI questions are configured.
  • User ID (required) — Required when Wait for Answers is enabled. Identifies the user for polling; if empty, uses user_id or userId from input data.
  • Wait for Answers — Defaults to true. When enabled, waits for answers until all questions are answered or the timeout expires. When disabled, returns after posting; use a Home of Agents Trigger to receive responses.
  • Render Mode — Defaults to Modal. Modal supports the multi-question carousel, free text, and skipping. Inline displays one question with up to six choices plus Custom reply and Skip.
  • Timeout (Seconds) — Available when waiting; defaults to 600 seconds. Unanswered questions are returned as skipped when the timeout expires.
  • Poll Interval (Ms) — Available when waiting; defaults to 1500 ms between checks for answers.

Output shape

One output item per input item, merging the operation result into the input JSON.

With waiting disabled, the result includes success, askId, chatId, posted question message IDs, and question text/order. With waiting enabled, it includes success, askId, chatId, timedOut, and answers in question order. Each answer may include picked_option_value, picked_option_label, picked_option_id, free_text, or skipped. On timeout, unanswered questions are marked skipped. If continue-on-fail is enabled, errors are returned with success:false and an error message.
