Summary

Convert a field's value to a specified data type (string, number, boolean, or integer) within each input item, optionally storing the result in a new field.

Inputs

• Source Field (required) — The name of the field whose value will be converted.
• Target Type (required) — The data type to convert the value to: String, Number (supports formatted numbers like $1,234.56), Boolean (recognizes 'yes', 'on', '1', etc.), or Integer (rounds decimals).
• Output Field — Optional target field to save the converted value. If empty, the original field is overwritten.
• Default Value — Value to use if the conversion fails. If empty, the original value is kept.
• Options — Additional settings including tracking changes, continuing on failure, skipping unchanged items, case-insensitive field matching, and debug mode that adds detailed transformation info.

Output shape

a list of items each containing a JSON object with the converted field value (in the specified output or source field), optionally including _changes and _debug metadata fields depending on options set.

If 'Track Changes' is enabled, output includes a _changes array detailing before/after values for the conversion. 'Skip Unchanged' can exclude items where no value changed. 'Debug Mode' adds expanded debug info about field lookup and conversion steps. Field matching respects case sensitivity depending on options. Conversion handles nested fields via dot notation.
