Summary

Merge an existing merge request identified by its IID in a specified GitLab project, optionally customizing the merge commit message and selecting the merge strategy.

Inputs

• authentication — Choose to use saved GitLab credentials or specify custom server URL and personal access token.
• server — Base URL of the GitLab instance; used only when custom authentication is selected.
• accessToken — Personal access token with API permissions; used only when custom authentication is selected.
• projectLocator — Specify whether to identify the project by numeric ID or by path (namespace/owner and name). Defaults to ID.
• projectId — Numeric ID of the project; required if projectLocator is set to ID.
• projectOwner — Namespace or owner of the project; used when projectLocator is set to Path.
• projectName — Project slug or name; used when projectLocator is set to Path.
• mergeRequestIid (required) — The IID (internal ID) of the merge request to be merged. Must be a positive number.
• mergeCommitMessage — Optional commit message to use when merging the merge request.
• mergeStrategy — Method of merging the merge request changes: either 'merge' or 'squash'. Defaults to 'merge'.

Output shape

a single record representing the merged merge request details

The operation returns the API response JSON for the merged merge request. If the merge is successful, the response includes details about the updated merge request state.
