Summary

Create a Shopify metafield definition for a selected owner type, specifying its name, namespace, key, and data type. Optionally add a description and validation rules.

Inputs

• authentication — Choose Admin API credentials (default) or OAuth2 for the Shopify connection.
• ownerType — Select Article, Blog, Product, Product Variant, Collection, Customer, Order, or Draft Order. Defaults to Product.
• name (required) — Name of the metafield definition.
• namespace (required) — Namespace used to group the metafield definition.
• key (required) — Key identifying the metafield within its namespace.
• definitionType (required) — Choose a metafield data type from the dynamically loaded options, or supply its identifier using an expression.
• description — Optional description of the definition.
• validations — Optional list of validation rules, each with a required name and string value.
• outputMode — Choose Simplified (default), Raw, or Selected Fields output.
• selectedFields — Specify the fields to include when Output Mode is Selected Fields.

Output shape

An operation result formatted according to the selected output mode.
