Summary

Send a text message to a Telegram chat using the supplied bot token. Optionally attach Telegram reply markup, message entities, or reply to an existing message.

Inputs

  • Bot Token (required) — Telegram bot token; defaults to $json.access_token || $json.token.
  • Chat ID (required) — Destination chat ID; defaults to $json.chatId || $json.channel?.external_id.
  • Text (required) — Message text; defaults to $json.text || $json.caption || $json.publication?.content.
  • Reply to Message ID — Positive Telegram message ID to reply to; defaults to 0, which sends without a reply.
  • Reply Markup — JSON for Telegram reply or inline keyboard markup; defaults to $json.reply_markup. Invalid JSON is ignored.
  • Entities — JSON array of Telegram message entities for formatting or links; defaults to $json.entities. A string value is parsed as JSON; invalid JSON or a non-array is ignored.
  • Use Redis Rate Limit — Defaults to false. When enabled and Redis credentials are available, throttles requests per bot; the node also retries rate-limit (429) responses when retry timing is available.

Output shape

A Telegram Message object for each successfully sent input item, on the Success output.

The node also has a User Blocked (403) output and an Error output. With n8n Continue On Fail enabled, other errors go to Error; otherwise they are thrown. The bot token is required at runtime. The operation calls Telegram sendMessage; positive reply IDs, non-empty markup, and non-empty entity arrays are passed as options.
