Summary

Fetches the transcript of a LinkedIn post video via the TranscriptMagic API (POST /api/linkedin/transcript) and returns it either normalized or as the raw API response.

Inputs

  • url (required) — The LinkedIn post URL to transcribe. Whitespace is trimmed; an empty value throws an error. The placeholder shows a YouTube URL, but this operation sends the URL to the LinkedIn endpoint.
  • options.outputFormat — Output shape. 'Normalized' (default) returns text, platform, credits and url. 'Raw' returns the upstream API response unchanged.

Output shape

One output item per input item. Normalized: { text, platform: 'linkedin', credits, url }. Raw: the TranscriptMagic API JSON body as-is.

In normalized mode, text is taken from the response's transcript (string), transcript or transcripts arrays (segment text joined with spaces), or text field, and is an empty string if none match. credits is null if the API doesn't return a number. Requires the transcriptMagicApi credential. On HTTP 429 the node waits for the Retry-After header (default 5s) and retries once. Other API errors throw, or with Continue On Fail enabled return { error } for that item.

Examples

Example 1: Get plain text from a LinkedIn video post to feed into an LLM summarizer

Resource: Transcript; Operation: LinkedIn; URL: ={{ $json.postUrl }}; Output Format: Normalized. Use the text field downstream.

Example 2: Inspect the full API response, including any segment or metadata fields

Resource: Transcript; Operation: LinkedIn; URL set to a post link; Options > Output Format: Raw.
