Summary

Renders a stored message template for the selected WhatsApp chat and sends the resulting text. Use the template ID if both ID and name are provided; otherwise the template name is used. Template variables replace matching {{placeholder}} tokens.

Inputs

• Session Name or ID (required) — WhatsApp session to send from.
• Chat Name or ID (required) — Recipient chat ID, such as a personal chat ending in @c.us or a group ending in @g.us.
• Template Name or ID — Template to render. The ID takes precedence when set; otherwise the name is used.
• Template Name — Name of the template to render when Template Name or ID is empty.
• Variables (JSON) — JSON object of values substituted for template {{placeholder}} tokens.
• Link Preview — Controls URL preview generation in the rendered message: Engine Default, Generate a Preview, or No Preview. Engine defaults vary; requesting a preview on Baileys fetches URLs before sending.
• Mentions — WhatsApp IDs to mention, as a comma-separated list, JSON array, or expression resolving to an array. The rendered text must contain a matching @ mention token for it to render.

Output shape

A single item containing the send response.

The operation sends the rendered template through the text sender. It supports link previews and mentions, but not a custom link preview or quoted-message ID.
