Summary

Send a video to a WhatsApp chat through the selected OpenWA session. Choose the video source as a URL, binary property, or Base64 data; optionally add a caption, quote a previous message, or include mentions that match @-tokens in the caption.

Inputs

  • Session Name or ID (required) — Session to send from; select a listed session or provide its ID.
  • Chat Name or ID (required) — Recipient chat ID, such as a personal chat ending in @c.us or a group ending in @g.us. Only the first 1,000 chats are listed; use an expression for others.
  • Caption — Optional video caption.
  • Video Source — Choose URL, Binary Data, or Base64. Defaults to URL.
  • Video URL (required) — Video URL, shown when URL is selected.
  • Binary Property (required) — Name of the incoming binary property containing the video, shown when Binary Data is selected. Binary data is sent as Base64.
  • Base64 Data (required) — Base64-encoded video, shown when Base64 is selected.
  • MIME Type (required) — MIME type for Base64 video, shown when Base64 is selected; defaults to video/mp4.
  • Quoted Message ID — Optionally quote an earlier message. If OpenWA cannot resolve the ID, sending fails rather than proceeding without the quote; Baileys can quote only messages it has stored.
  • Mentions — Optional WhatsApp IDs to mention. Accepts a comma-separated list, JSON array, or expression resolving to an array. The caption must contain matching @-mention tokens for the mentions to render.

Output shape

A single n8n item containing the API response for the send request.

The response fields depend on the OpenWA API. List-style per-row output behavior does not apply to this send operation.
