Summary

Create a new category in Shopware, supporting creation as either a parent category or a child category under an existing parent, including optional nested child categories.

Inputs

• parent — Boolean flag to create a parent category (true) or a child category (false). Defaults to true.
• createParent — When creating a child category (parent is false), this boolean indicates whether to create a new parent category for it (true) or select an existing parent category (false). Defaults to true.
• parentId (required) — If creating a child category without creating a new parent category (createParent is false and parent is false), select the existing parent category from this list.
• parentCategoryName (required) — If creating a new parent category (createParent is true and parent is false), specify the name of the new parent category.
• parentCategoryDescription (required) — If creating a new parent category, specify its description.
• categoryName (required) — Name of the category being created.
• categoryDescription (required) — Description of the category being created.
• children — Optional list of child categories to create under the new category, each with a name and description.

Output shape

A single record containing the created category details, including any nested children categories created.

The operation returns the created category object as confirmed by the Shopware API. Children categories specified are also created nested under the main category. Required fields vary depending on whether the category is a parent or child and whether a new parent category is created.
