Summary

Create a new ThingsBoard asset.

Inputs

• authentication — Authentication method (API Key or Username/Password)
• assetInputMode — Input mode for asset creation: 'params' for individual fields or 'json' for a full JSON object
• assetJson (required) — Full ThingsBoard asset JSON object (required when using JSON input mode)
• assetNameCreate — Name of the new asset (required when using 'params' input mode)
• assetLabel — Optional label for the asset
• assetTypeCreate — Asset type as the name of the asset profile
• customerIdAssetCreate — Customer ID to assign the asset to

Output shape

Returns the created asset including its generated ID; optional fields may be omitted

Examples

Example 1: Create an asset using the simple parameter form

Set Authentication to API Key, Asset Input Mode to params, fill Asset Name and Type, optionally add a Label, leave Customer ID empty.

Example 2: Create an asset by providing a full JSON payload

Select Asset Input Mode = json, provide a JSON object with name, type, and other properties, and choose an Authentication method.

Example 3: Create an asset and associate it with a customer

Provide Customer ID, set Asset Input Mode to params, fill Asset Name and Type, optionally add a Label.
