Summary

Update an existing contact in ContactShip by identifying it through ID, phone number, email, or search, and modify its fields including country, email, full name, phone number, and all custom or organizational contact properties.

Inputs

• Contact (required) — Select the contact to update, searchable by name, phone number, or email, or specify its unique ID, phone number, or email address.
• Update Fields — Specify the contact's updated field values. You can update basic fields such as country, email, full name, and phone number, replace all custom properties entirely, or replace all organizational contact property values using the contact properties mapper.

The operation returns the data of the contact after the update. When updating custom properties or contact properties, all existing values for those properties are replaced by the values provided; to update some properties without replacing others, use the 'Update Properties' operation instead.

Examples

Example 1: Update contact by email and change full name and phone number

Specify email as contact locator; fill 'Full Name' and 'Phone Number' fields under 'Update Fields' with new values.

Example 2: Replace all custom properties for a contact identified by ID

Select 'ID' as contact locator with the contact's ID; configure 'Custom Properties' collection with new property fields, types, and values.
