Poll → Create Poll

AI-generated

Summary

Creates an interactive iMessage poll in a chat via the Photon server, with an optional title and a list of options. Returns the server's response for the created poll message.

Inputs

  • Chat GUID (required) — Chat identifier, e.g. iMessage;+;chat123456 (group chats are typical). Find it with List Chats. The node tries alternate GUID variants (iMessage/any prefixes) if the chat is not found.
  • Poll Question / Title — Title shown at the top of the poll. Only sent if non-empty.
  • Options (required) — Repeatable list of option texts (UI says minimum 2, sortable). Each is trimmed and blank entries are dropped before sending. The node does not itself check the minimum count.

Output shape

One output item per input item, containing the Photon server's response (the data field if present, otherwise the full response) for the created poll message.

The poll message GUID in the output is what the Vote, Unvote and Add Option operations need as 'Poll Message GUID'. If the chat does not exist or is not found, the node tries to create a DM chat from the address in the GUID, which only works for service;-;address style GUIDs, then retries. With Continue On Fail enabled, errors are returned as {error: message} items.

Examples

Example 1: Post a lunch poll to a group chat

Chat GUID: iMessage;+;chat123456; Title: Where should we eat tonight?; Options: Pizza, Sushi, Tacos

Example 2: Create an untitled quick poll from workflow data

Chat GUID from a List Chats expression; leave Title empty; Options set to expressions such as {{$json.optionA}} and {{$json.optionB}}
