Summary

Download a file from TeamHub by specifying its File ID, optionally requesting a preview version, and save the result as binary data in a specified output field.

Inputs

• File ID (required) — The unique identifier of the file to download.
• Put Output File in Field (required) — The name of the binary output field to store the downloaded file data.
• Preview — Whether to download the inline preview variant of the file instead of the full file.
• Options — Additional options including whether to ignore SSL certificate validation errors (Ignore SSL Issues).

Output shape

A single n8n item containing the downloaded file as binary data under the specified output field name, along with JSON metadata including fileName, mimeType, and size.

The file is downloaded as binary, and the node extracts the filename from the HTTP Content-Disposition header if available, defaulting to the File ID if not. The option to request a preview modifies the API query parameter accordingly. SSL validation can be optionally disabled via the 'Ignore SSL Issues' option.

Examples

Example 1: Download a full file by its ID and save it to the default binary field.

File ID set to the target file's ID, 'Put Output File in Field' left as 'data', and 'Preview' set to false.

Example 2: Download the preview version of a file into a custom binary field.

File ID set as needed, 'Put Output File in Field' set to a custom name, and 'Preview' set to true.
