Record → Update
AI-generatedSummary
Update one or more records in a selected Vika/AITable datasheet using a PATCH request. Choose JSON mode to send raw record objects or Field Mapper mode to map field values for a single record.
Inputs
- Space (required) — Select the space containing the datasheet.
- Datasheet (required) — Select the datasheet whose records to update.
- Data Mode — Choose JSON (default) for an array of API record objects, or Field Mapper to map values to datasheet fields.
- Records (required) — In JSON mode, provide an array of 1–10 record objects. Each update record needs a recordId and fields. Use Field IDs to choose whether field keys are IDs or names.
- Record ID (required) — In Field Mapper mode, provide the ID of the single record to update; it can be an expression using incoming data.
- Fields (required) — In Field Mapper mode, map one or more values to editable fields loaded from the selected datasheet. Mapper writes use field IDs.
- Output Field Keys — In Field Mapper mode, choose whether returned field keys use names (default) or IDs.
Output shape
A list of updated record items.
Each returned record is emitted as an n8n item paired with its input item. Field Mapper output uses field names by default; choosing Field IDs keeps ID keys. JSON-mode output follows the API response. The operation sends at most 10 records per request.
Examples
Example 1: Update a record with JSON input
Set Data Mode to JSON and provide Records as an array such as [{"recordId":"rec...","fields":{"Name":"Updated"}}]. Choose whether the field key is a name or ID using Use Field IDs.
Example 2: Map fields into one record
Set Data Mode to Field Mapper, supply the Record ID, and map values in Fields. The node sends mapped field IDs and can return output keys as names or IDs.
