Summary

Converts a PDF to an Excel workbook using PDF4me. Choose the PDF source, set the conversion quality and OCR options, and configure how the resulting sheets and formatting should be handled.

Inputs

• Input Data Type (required) — Choose Binary Data, Base64 String, or URL as the PDF source.
• Binary Property (required) — For Binary Data, the name of the incoming binary property containing the PDF; defaults to data.
• Input File Name (required) — For Binary Data, optionally provide the PDF filename; the binary filename is used if omitted. For Base64 String or URL, provide the PDF filename.
• Base64 Content (required) — For Base64 String input, the PDF content encoded as base64.
• File URL (required) — For URL input, the address of the PDF to convert.
• Quality Type (required) — Choose Draft for normal PDFs (1 API call per file) or High for image-generated or scanned PDFs (2 API calls per page).
• Language (required) — OCR language for text recognition in images or scanned PDFs; defaults to English.
• Merge All Sheets (required) — Combine the resulting Excel sheets into one when enabled; otherwise keep separate sheets.
• Output Format (required) — Whether to preserve the original formatting when possible.
• OCR When Needed (required) — Whether to use OCR for scanned PDFs.
• Output File Name — Name for the resulting Excel file; defaults to PDF_to_EXCEL_output.xlsx.
• Document Name — Source PDF name for reference; defaults to output.pdf.
• Binary Data Output Name — Name of the binary property for the converted file in n8n output; defaults to data.

Output shape

A converted Excel file as binary data in the n8n output item.

The binary property name is configurable through Binary Data Output Name.
