Summary

Create or upsert a contact by specifying a phone number and optional additional fields such as name, email, stage, source, tags, notes, lead status, session ID, and custom fields.

Inputs

• Phone (required) — Phone number in E.164 format (7–15 digits); non-digit characters are stripped server-side.
• Additional Fields — Optional fields for the contact including First Name, Last Name, Email, Stage (new, contacted, qualified, converted, lost), Source, Tags (comma separated), Notes, Is Lead (boolean), Session ID, and Custom Fields as a JSON array of key-value objects.

Output shape

A single JSON object representing the created or upserted contact record.

The operation returns the server response as a contact JSON object. The output is the JSON response from the API call to create or upsert the contact.

Example 1: Create a new contact with minimum required phone number

Phone: string in E.164 format

Example 2: Create or upsert a contact with full details

Phone: string, plus optional additional fields like firstName, lastName, email, stage, source, tags, notes, isLead, sessionId, and customFields JSON array.
