Summary

Promote a specified contact to a lead by updating their details with optional fields such as first name, last name, email, stage, source, tags, and notes.

Inputs

• Contact ID (required) — The unique identifier of the contact to be promoted.
• Promote Fields — Optional fields to update on the contact when promoting, including first name, last name, email, stage (with options: New, Contacted, Qualified, Converted, Lost), source, tags (comma separated), and notes.

Output shape

a single record representing the updated contact or lead, including any fields updated via promotion

Returns the API response of the promoted contact as a JSON object. Errors will throw exceptions unless continuation on fail is enabled.

Examples

Example 1: Promote a contact with ID '123' to a lead, updating the first name to 'John', last name to 'Doe', stage to 'Qualified', and adding tags 'vip,important'.

Set 'Contact ID' to '123' and under 'Promote Fields' set 'First Name' to 'John', 'Last Name' to 'Doe', 'Stage' to 'Qualified', and 'Tags (comma separated)' to 'vip,important'.
