Summary

Create a scheduled task for a specified AI employee, with an instruction to run once, on a recurring schedule, or as a heartbeat. The operation sends the task details to Parallel AI and returns the API response.

Inputs

• Employee ID (required) — ID of the AI employee that will run the task.
• Name (required) — Short descriptive name for the task.
• Prompt (required) — Instruction the employee executes on every run.
• Company ID — Company ID; optional when using a company API key.
• Schedule Type — Choose One Time (the default), Recurring, or Heartbeat.
• Scheduled At — ISO 8601 datetime for a one-time task.
• Recurring Config — JSON schedule details for recurring and heartbeat tasks.
• Timezone — IANA timezone for the schedule; defaults to UTC.
• Context Settings — JSON tool and context settings; when omitted, the employee's own chat settings apply.
• Template ID — Template the task was created from, if applicable.
• Template Version — Version of the template; defaults to 0.

Output shape

A single API response record for the created scheduled task.

The supplied source pack does not include the scheduled-task implementation body, so it does not establish the exact response fields.

Examples

Example 1: Create a recurring task

Provide the employee ID, name, prompt, set Schedule Type to Recurring, and supply Recurring Config; optionally set a timezone and context settings.

Example 2: Schedule a one-time task

Provide the employee ID, name, prompt, set Schedule Type to One Time, and supply Scheduled At as an ISO 8601 datetime.
