Summary

Create a new community post in a specified forum under a community area, authored by a selected team member. Supports optional title for discussion type posts, replies to existing posts, and content in either text/HTML string or JSON array format.

Inputs

• Author Name or ID (required) — Select a team member as the author who must have access to the target forum. Choose from the list or specify an ID via expression.
• Area Name or ID — Optionally filter forums by a community area. Choose from the list or specify an ID via expression.
• Forum Name or ID (required) — Select the forum where the post will be published. Choose from the list or specify an ID via expression.
• Post Title — Title for the post, applicable only to discussion posts.
• Answer to Post ID — If set, creates this post as a reply to another post; relevant only for discussion posts.
• Content Format (required) — Select the format of the post content, either 'Text or HTML' string or 'JSON Array'.
• Content (required) — The textual or HTML content of the post; required when Content Format is 'Text or HTML'.
• Content JSON (required) — The post content as a JSON array of objects (e.g., Slate format); required when Content Format is 'JSON Array'.
• Element JSON — Optional JSON object representing a post element like a content link, applicable only to feed posts.

Output shape

a single record representing the newly created community post including post ID and content metadata

The returned data includes the post details created in the selected forum. Required inputs must be provided, and the author team member must have access rights to the forum. Content format determines which content input field is required. Optional fields impact the post type and relation.

Examples

Example 1: Create a discussion post with text content

Select author, area, forum, provide a post title, and enter plain text content.

Example 2: Create a reply post with JSON content

Select author, forum, specify the ID of the post to reply to, and provide content as a JSON array.
