Summary

Updates an existing Microsoft Teams conversation activity (text, options, attachments) without sending a new message.

Inputs

• authKind (required) — Authentication method: Classic Bot (Azure Bot Service) or Agent 365 (Entra Agent Identity).
• conversationSource — Source of conversation routing info: From Envelope (current item) or Specify Manually.
• serviceUrl — Bot Connector service URL for the target channel (required when conversationSource is manual).
• conversationId — The conversation ID (e.g., 19:…@thread.tacv2). Required when conversationSource is manual.
• channelId — Azure Bot Service channel the conversation belongs to (default: msteams).
• activityId — Required for specific activity updates; leave empty for proactive sends.
• text (required) — Message content. Supports expressions like {{ $.parsed.userName }}.
• options — Collections for mentions, suggested actions, and message options (e.g., workflow footer).
• identityMode — Identity mode for Agent 365 authentication: Autonomous or Agent User Account.

Output shape

A single item containing the updated Activity envelope.

Returns the full Activity object (including ConversationReference, Timestamp, etc.) for the updated message, allowing downstream nodes to access the envelope details.

Examples

Example 1: Update a message in a Teams conversation.

Set conversationSource to From Envelope, fill Text with new content, and ensure Auth is configured.

Example 2: Proactive send from outside the bot.

Set conversationSource to Specify Manually, provide Service URL and Conversation ID, and leave Activity ID empty.
