Summary

Creates a reusable custom tab (field definition) in the DocuSign account from a label, a tab type, and optional layout and formatting settings.

Inputs

• authentication — Authentication method: JWT (Service Integration, the default) or OAuth2 (User Authorization).
• tabLabel (required) — Label for the custom tab.
• type (required) — Tab type: Text (default), Number, Date, List, Checkbox, Radio Group or Note (read-only text).
• additionalOptions — Optional collection with Anchor String (anchor text used to position the tab in a document), Font (default, Arial, Courier, Times New Roman), Bold, Width and Height (pixels, minimum 0), Required, and Locked (recipients cannot change it).

Output shape

The DocuSign API response for the newly created custom tab, as a single item. It is expected to include the new custom tab's ID and its settings.

The source pack shows only a handleCustomTabCreate stub and not its body. The exact request mapping and response fields are therefore not confirmed. Errors from the DocuSign API are raised as node errors, and DocuSign requests are retried on rate limits and 5xx errors.

Example 2: Create a locked, bold read-only note to anchor on contract documents.
