Summary

Creates an envelope transfer rule in DocuSign that moves envelopes from one user to another, identified by their email addresses. The handler body isn't included in the source pack, so the exact API call and returned data are not visible.

Inputs

• Authentication — Credential type: JWT (Service Integration, default) or OAuth2 (User Authorization).
• From User Email (required) — Email of the user whose envelopes are transferred.
• To User Email (required) — Email of the user who receives the transferred envelopes.
• Additional Options > Carbon Copy Original Owner — Boolean, default false. If true, the original owner is CC'd on transferred envelopes.

Output shape

Presumably the created transfer rule as returned by DocuSign, emitted as n8n item data.

The handler implementation (handleEnvelopeTransferCreateRule) is not shown in the source pack, so the exact response fields are unconfirmed. Requests go through a DocuSign API helper with retry on rate limits and 5xx errors; API errors are thrown with added context.

Examples

Example 1: Offboarding an employee: route their envelopes to a colleague.

From User Email = departing@company.com, To User Email = colleague@company.com, Carbon Copy Original Owner left off.

Example 2: Transfer envelopes while keeping the original owner informed.

Set both emails and enable Additional Options > Carbon Copy Original Owner.
