Summary

Promote a chat member with optional permission settings

Inputs

• chat_id (required) — Unique identifier for the target chat or username (@channelusername)
• user_id (required) — Unique identifier of the target user
• promoteAdditionalFields — Set additional promotion permissions (e.g., can_manage_chat, can_post_messages) – optional, defaults to none

Output shape

a single JSON object representing the Telegram API response for the promoted member

If the request succeeds, the response's 'result' field is returned; on error the item contains an '_error' field.

Examples

Example 1: Grant admin rights to a user in a group

chat_id = '@mygroup', user_id = 123456789, promoteAdditionalFields = {"can_manage_chat": true, "can_post_messages": true}

Example 2: Give a user permission to manage topics and edit messages
