Summary

Forwards a message from one chat to another, optionally adding replies or other modifiers.

Inputs

• chat_id (required) — Unique identifier for the target chat or username (@channelusername).
• from_chat_id (required) — Unique identifier for the chat where the original message was sent.
• message_id (required) — Unique identifier of the target message to forward.
• disable_notification — Send the message silently (without triggering a notification for the user).
• protect_content — Protect the message from forwarding and saving by other users.
• reply_to_message_id — If specified, the forwarded message will be a reply to this message ID.
• message_thread_id — Unique identifier for the target message thread (topic) of the forum.
• disable_web_page_preview — Disables link previews for links in the forwarded message.
• allow_sending_without_reply — Allow sending the message even if the replied-to message is not found.

Output shape

a single record containing the forwarded message object

The returned object includes the identifier of the newly sent message.

Examples

Example 1: Forward a specific message from a source chat to a destination chat without sending a notification.

Set chat_id to destination, from_chat_id to source, message_id to the ID of the message, and disable_notification to true.

Example 2: Forward a message to a channel, protecting it from being forwarded or saved by other users.

Set chat_id to the channel username, from_chat_id to the source, message_id to the target, and protect_content to true.
