Summary

Set permissions on a Telegram chat

Inputs

• chat_id (required) — Unique identifier for the target chat or username (@channelusername)
• permissions (required) — JSON object describing chat permissions (ChatPermissions)
• chatPermissionsAdditionalFields — Additional fields for the permission operation, such as independent permission settings

Output shape

a single JSON object representing the updated chat permissions or success status

The operation returns the Telegram API response; on success it contains the updated chat data; on failure an error is thrown unless continueOnFail is enabled.

Examples

Example 1: Apply restrictive permissions to a private group

chat_id = "my_private_group", permissions = {"can_send_messages":true,"can_add_web_page_previews":false}, use_independent_chat_permissions = true

Example 2: Enable independent permissions for a channel
