Summary

Fetches messages from a required Upwork message room using GraphQL. Select the room by ID or URL; the operation returns one n8n item per message, with a default limit of 25 and an optional pagination cursor.

Inputs

• Authentication (required) — Choose OAuth2 or API Token credentials.
• Room (required) — Select the message room by ID or URL. The selected value is passed as the room ID.
• Limit — Maximum messages to request; defaults to 25 (UI range 1–100).
• Cursor — Optional GraphQL pagination cursor.
• Advanced: GraphQL Query Override — Replace the built-in query for fetching room messages.
• Advanced: Variables — JSON object merged into the generated GraphQL variables; values can override the room ID, limit, or cursor.
• Advanced: Item Path — Dot path to the results in the response. Defaults to messageRoom.messages; connections with nodes or edges are unwrapped automatically.

Output shape

A list of n8n items, one per message.

Each item contains {id, resource, operation, data, _meta}. The default query requests each message's id, text, createdAt, and sender (id and name). Pagination is not automatic: use the returned pageInfo cursor in a subsequent run. A custom query or item path can change which result objects become items.
