Generate a Directions Chart using a subject's birth data and a target date to calculate primary astrological directions for predictive or analytic purposes.

Inputs

• Subject Name — Optional name for the chart subject, used in report titles.
• Year (required) — Birth year in 4-digit format (e.g., 1990).
• Month (required) — Birth month as a number from 1 to 12 (January=1, December=12).
• Day (required) — Birth day of the month (1-31).
• Hour (required) — Birth hour in 24-hour format (0-23, where 0=midnight, 12=noon).
• Minute (required) — Birth minute (0-59).
• Second — Optional birth second (0-59) for additional precision.
• Location Type (required) — Method to specify birth location: by city name or exact latitude/longitude.
• City (required) — Birth city name (e.g., "London"). Required if Location Type is 'City Name'.
• Country Code (required) — Two-letter ISO country code for the birth city (e.g., GB). Required if Location Type is 'City Name'.
• Latitude (required) — Geographic latitude in decimal degrees (-90 to 90, positive is North). Required if Location Type is 'Coordinates'.
• Longitude (required) — Geographic longitude in decimal degrees (-180 to 180, positive is East). Required if Location Type is 'Coordinates'.
• Target Date (required) — The date (YYYY-MM-DD) for which the directions chart should be calculated.
• House System — House calculation system (e.g., Placidus, Whole Sign). Defaults to Placidus.
• Zodiac Type — Zodiac calculation method: Tropical (Western) or Sidereal (Vedic). Defaults to Tropical.
• Active Points — Predefined set or custom selection of celestial points to include in the chart. Defaults to Modern (12 Points).
• Custom Active Points — Specific celestial points to include if Active Points preset is set to Custom.
• Perspective — Reference point for position calculations: Geocentric, Heliocentric, Draconic, or Barycentric. Defaults to Geocentric.
• Precision — Decimal precision for degree calculations (0-8). Defaults to 2.
• Simplify — Whether to return a simplified response containing key data only. Defaults to true.
• Advanced Options — Toggle to show advanced options like fixed stars and caching.
• Include Fixed Stars Analysis — When enabled, includes fixed star positions and aspects in the chart.
• Fixed Star Presets — Presets groups of fixed stars to include if fixed stars analysis is enabled.
• Include Parans — Whether to include paran calculations for fixed stars (co-rising, co-culminating, co-setting).
• Include Heliacal — Whether to include heliacal rising and setting phenomena of fixed stars.
• Use Cache — Whether to use cached calculations when available. Defaults to true.

Output shape

a JSON object containing detailed directions chart data including positions and aspects of selected celestial points at the target date based on the subject's birth data

The response shape can be simplified to include only key information if 'Simplify' is enabled; disabling 'Simplify' returns a full API response with all available metadata including fixed stars and paran options if enabled. The operation requires complete and precise birth data and a target date to calculate primary directions.

Example 1: Calculate primary directions for a subject born on 1990-06-15 at 14:30 in London, GB for the target date 2024-06-15 using the Placidus house system and Tropical zodiac, including the modern active points preset.
