Summary

Calculate Yogini Dasha dashas for a Vedic birth chart.

Inputs

• year (required) — Birth year in 4-digit format (e.g., 1990). Default: 1990.
• month (required) — Birth month as number 1-12 (January=1, December=12). Default: 1.
• day (required) — Birth day of month (1-31). Default: 1.
• hour (required) — Birth hour in 24-hour format (0-23, where 0=midnight, 12=noon). Default: 12.
• minute (required) — Birth minute (0-59). Default: 0.
• locationType — Choose how to specify birth location. Options: city (auto-detects coordinates) or coordinates (exact latitude/longitude). Default: city.
• city (required) — Birth city name (e.g., 'London'). Shown when locationType is city. Required if locationType is city.
• countryCode (required) — 2-letter ISO country code for the birth city (e.g., GB, US). Shown when locationType is city. Required if locationType is city.
• latitude (required) — Geographic latitude in decimal degrees (-90 to 90, positive=North). Shown when locationType is coordinates. Required if locationType is coordinates.
• longitude (required) — Geographic longitude in decimal degrees (-180 to 180, positive=East). Shown when locationType is coordinates. Required if locationType is coordinates.
• ayanamsa — Ayanamsa (precession correction) system for Vedic calculations. Default: lahiri. Options include fagan_bradley, galactic_center_0_sag, jn_bhasin, krishnamurti, lahiri, raman, true_citra, true_pushya, true_revati, yukteshwar.
• nodeType — Calculation method for lunar nodes (Rahu/Ketu). Default: mean. Options: mean (average position) or true (actual astronomical position).
• precision — Decimal precision for degree calculations (0-6). Default: 2.
• dashaYears — Number of years of Dasha periods to calculate. Full Vimshottari cycle is 120 years. Default: 120.
• simplify — Whether to return simplified response with key data only. Disable for full API response with all metadata. Default: true.

Output shape

When simplify is true, returns a condensed array of Yogini Dasha periods with essential fields (start/end dates, ruling deity, phase duration). When false, returns the full API response including all metadata such as ayanamsa calculations, node types, and additional Vedic chart data. The simplify behavior follows the node's built-in response condenser, capping top-level fields at the specified precision.

Location parameters (city/countryCode or latitude/longitude) are mandatory depending on the selected locationType. All date/time parameters are required for chart calculation.

Examples

Example 1: Basic Vedic Yogini Dasha calculation with default simplify.

Provide birth year 1990, month 6, day 15, hour 14, minute 30, city London, countryCode GB. All other parameters use defaults.
