Summary

Calculate Vedic Ashtakvarga point values for signs and planets based on birth datetime, location, and ayanamsa settings.

Inputs

• year (required) — Birth year in 4-digit format (e.g. 1990).
• month (required) — Birth month as a number from 1 to 12.
• day (required) — Birth day of the month from 1 to 31.
• hour (required) — Birth hour in 24-hour format (0-23).
• minute (required) — Birth minute (0-59).
• locationType — Select whether to specify location using city name or geographical coordinates ('city' or 'coordinates'). Defaults to 'city'.
• city (required) — Name of the birth city (required if locationType is 'city').
• countryCode (required) — 2-letter ISO country code for the birth city (required if locationType is 'city').
• latitude (required) — Geographic latitude in decimal degrees (-90 to 90; required if locationType is 'coordinates').
• longitude (required) — Geographic longitude in decimal degrees (-180 to 180; required if locationType is 'coordinates').
• ayanamsa — Ayanamsa system for Vedic calculations (e.g. 'lahiri', 'fagan_bradley', 'raman'). Defaults to 'lahiri'.
• nodeType — Calculation method for lunar nodes ('mean' or 'true'). Defaults to 'mean'.
• precision — Decimal precision for degree calculations (0-6). Defaults to 2.
• simplify — When enabled, returns only top-level key calculation results. Defaults to true.

Output shape

a JSON object containing Ashtakvarga scores and point distributions across planets and zodiac signs

If simplify is true, the response is trimmed to key calculated fields. When simplify is false, the full API response with additional calculation metadata is returned.

Examples

Example 1: Calculate Ashtakvarga scores using a city name

Set year=1990, month=6, day=15, hour=14, minute=30, locationType='city', city='London', countryCode='GB', ayanamsa='lahiri'.

Example 2: Calculate Ashtakvarga scores using coordinates and Raman ayanamsa

Set year=1985, month=3, day=20, hour=8, minute=15, locationType='coordinates', latitude=50.45, longitude=30.52, ayanamsa='raman'.
