Summary

Sends a WhatsApp presence indicator to a chat: show composing or recording, or clear the indicator with paused. Use composing before a slow reply; WhatsApp expires the indicator after about 10 seconds, and presence does not consume the message-send budget.

Inputs

  • Account Name or ID — WhatsApp account to use. Select an account for multi-account API keys; with a key bound to one account, leave empty for automatic selection.
  • Chat ID / Phone Number (required) — Recipient phone number in international format, including country code, or a group JID ending in @g.us. Punctuation, a leading +, and a 00 prefix are accepted.
  • State — Indicator to show: Composing (default), Recording, or Paused to clear it.

Output shape

One item per input, containing the SocialMate API response as JSON.

The request posts the normalized chat ID and selected state to the account's presence endpoint. The response fields are determined by the API.
