Summary

Perform a search for Contact entities in Bullhorn using a Lucene query string, returning specified fields up to a configurable record limit.

Inputs

• Authentication (required) — Choose between 'User Credentials (Email & Password)' or 'Enterprise Credentials (API Key)' to authenticate with Bullhorn.
• Query (required) — Lucene query string to filter Contact records (e.g., 'name:Smith* AND status:Active').
• Fields — List of Bullhorn entity fields to return with each Contact, with optional output renaming.
• Limit — Maximum number of Contact records to return, capped at 500; default is 20.
• Hide Deleted — Toggle to exclude deleted or archived records automatically by adding appropriate filters to the query; defaults to true.
• Enable Operations Log — Optional boolean to emit an audit log row for every write operation; has no effect for search since it's read-only.
• Output Fields — Additional fixed or dynamic fields to include in every output item, merged with the search results.

Output shape

a list of Contact records matching the query with requested fields

Result includes the fields specified in 'Fields' plus any 'Output Fields'. The number of records returned does not exceed 'Limit' (max 500). Deleted or archived records are excluded by default if 'Hide Deleted' is enabled. The operation is read-only; no write actions are performed.

Examples

Example 1: Search active Contacts whose name starts with 'Smith', returning their id and email fields.

Set Authentication to your credentials, Query to 'name:Smith* AND status:Active', Fields to include 'id' and 'email', Limit to desired count (e.g., 50), and 'Hide Deleted' to true.
