Summary

Adds a task to an existing Service Request in OOps, optionally waiting for completion.

Inputs

  • requestId (required) — ID of the itsm.request the task belongs to.
  • name (required) — Task title (visible to the assignee).
  • sequence — Order in which the task runs. Same sequence as another task = parallel. Different sequence = cascade.
  • assigneeId — User (res.users) ID of the assignee. Leave 0 for none.
  • description — Long-form description shown to the assignee.
  • waitForCompletion — Whether to pause the workflow until the record reaches its terminal state (task done). Requires the Odoo module itsm_n8n_callbacks.
  • maxWaitHours — How long to wait before resuming with a timeout. Default 720 hours (30 days).

Output shape

A single item containing the ID of the created task, the model name, and optionally a 'waiting' flag.

When 'Wait for Completion' is enabled, the node pauses the workflow execution and resumes it when the task reaches the done state or the timeout is reached. If the workflow resumes via the callback URL, the output includes 'waiting: true'.

Examples

Example 1: Create a task for a specific service request

Set Service Request ID to 42, Task Name to 'Investigate Issue', and leave other fields as default.

Example 2: Create a task that waits for manual completion

Enable 'Wait for Completion' and set 'Max Wait (Hours)' to 48.

Example 3: Create a task that runs in parallel with another task

Set Sequence to 10 (matching another task) to run them in parallel.
