Summary

Update an existing Company record matching a search criterion or create a new one if no match is found. Optionally manage associations with other entities such as contacts or deals after the update or creation.

Inputs

• searchByField (required) — Specify the field to use for searching existing companies (e.g., email, name, or phone number).
• company data fields (required) — Provide the company details to create or update (such as name, address, phone, etc.).
• Manage Associations — Choose whether to attach, detach, or sync associations with other resources like contacts, companies, deals, activities, or documents after the operation.
• Association Operation — If managing associations, specify the operation type: attach (add without removing), detach (remove specific), or sync (replace all).
• Associations — Provide JSON defining related entity IDs to manage associations post-operation (e.g., companies, contacts).

Output shape

a single Company record object in JSON format representing the updated or newly created company

If a matching company exists based on the chosen search field, the record is updated; otherwise, a new record is created. If 'Manage Associations' is enabled, associations are processed accordingly after the main operation. Errors cause the node to fail unless 'Continue On Fail' is enabled.

Examples

Example 1: Update or create a company by searching with the company email. If found, update its info; if not, create it. Manage associations to attach specified contacts post-update.

Set 'searchByField' to 'email', provide company creation/update fields, enable 'Manage Associations', choose 'attach' for 'Association Operation', and specify related contacts and companies in 'Associations' JSON.
