Summary

Import a chat by sending a POST request to the /api/v1/chats/import endpoint with the chat data and optional metadata, pinned state, and folder ID, authenticating via Open WebUI credentials unless authentication is explicitly skipped.

Inputs

• Skip Authentication — Optionally bypass the Open WebUI authentication for the request.
• Method — HTTP method used; for this operation it defaults to POST.
• Media Type (required) — Content type of the request, fixed to application/json.
• Request Body (required) — The JSON body containing the chat object (required), optional meta data, pinned status, and folder ID to import the chat into Open WebUI.

Output shape

a single JSON object representing the imported chat or the API response to the import request

The response depends on the Open WebUI API's /api/v1/chats/import endpoint. Authentication is performed by default using Open WebUI credentials unless skipped.
