Summary

Create a new function in the Open Web UI by sending a POST request with the function's details.

Inputs

• Id (required) — The unique identifier for the new function.
• Name (required) — The name of the new function.
• Content (required) — The source code or content of the new function.
• FunctionMeta (required) — Metadata about the function, including an optional Description and a Manifest object.
• Skip Authentication — Boolean to skip authentication; if false, the Open WebUI Auth credential is used.

Output shape

a JSON object representing the created function as returned by the API.

The request is sent as a POST to the path "/api/v1/functions/create" with content type application/json. The base URL defaults to http://open-webui:8080 but can be overridden by authentication settings. Authentication is used by default unless skipped. No pagination or error envelope is specified.
