Summary

Create a new prompt by sending a POST request to the /api/v1/prompts/create endpoint of the Open Web UI API.

Inputs

• Skip Authentication — Optionally skip using the Open WebUI Auth credentials for this request.
• Method (required) — HTTP method to use; for this operation, POST is default and expected.
• Request Body (required) — An object containing the required fields 'command', 'title', and 'content', and an optional 'access_control' field to define access permissions for the new prompt.

Output shape

a JSON object representing the created prompt or the API response from the Open Web UI service.

The request is always sent as application/json and requires the 'command', 'title', and 'content' fields in the request body. Authentication is applied via Open WebUI Auth credentials unless skipped.

Examples

Example 1: Create a new prompt with a title, command, content, and optional access control.

Set 'Skip Authentication' to false, ensure that Open WebUI Auth credentials are configured, set method to POST, and provide the JSON body with command, title, content, and optionally access_control.
