Summary

Posts message media details to the ZapGate instance’s download endpoint to retrieve media associated with a WhatsApp message. Supply the message ID and media type, or provide the media URL and available decryption metadata.

Inputs

• waMessageId — WhatsApp message ID. Recommended: use the ID from the incoming webhook; the gateway inbox can use it without the media fields.
• type (required) — Media type: image, audio, video, document, or sticker.
• url — Media URL; optional when directPath is provided.
• directPath — WhatsApp media direct path.
• mediaKey — Media decryption key.
• fileSha256 — SHA-256 hash of the media file.
• fileEncSha256 — SHA-256 hash of the encrypted media file.
• fileLength — Media file length; numeric strings are converted to integers before sending.
• mimetype — Media MIME type.

Output shape

A single item per input item, containing the API response in json.

Uses the configured ZapGate instance credentials and returns the endpoint's response without converting it to n8n binary data. With Continue On Fail enabled, errors are returned as {"error":"…"} in the item JSON.
