Summary

Download media for a WhatsApp message through the ZapGate instance API. Provide the WhatsApp message ID to let the gateway use its inbox, or supply the message’s media details and required media type to request the download.

Inputs

• WhatsApp message ID (waMessageId) — Recommended. Uses the gateway inbox to locate the media; the operation’s description says this avoids needing the media fields.
• Type (type) (required) — Media type: image, audio, video, document, or sticker.
• URL (url) — Media URL; optional when Direct Path is provided.
• Direct Path (directPath) — Media direct path.
• Media Key (mediaKey) — Media key.
• File SHA256 (fileSha256) — Media file SHA-256 value.
• File Enc SHA256 (fileEncSha256) — Encrypted media file SHA-256 value.
• File Length (fileLength) — Media file length; converted to an integer when numeric.
• MIME Type (mimetype) — Media MIME type.

Output shape

A list of n8n items, each containing the ZapGate API response as JSON.

One response item is returned for each input item and paired to it. The operation posts to the instance message-download endpoint using instance authentication; media is returned in the API response, with no binary output conversion in the node code. Errors stop execution unless Continue On Fail is enabled, in which case that item contains an error field.
