Summary

Create a new designation in Zoho Cliq with a required name and optionally assign multiple users to it. Assigning a new designation to a user removes any previous designation held by that user automatically.

Inputs

• Enable AI Error Mode — Return errors as output items to allow workflow continuation on API errors, useful for AI tool recovery.
• Input Mode (required) — Choose between structured fields or raw JSON for payload input.
• Name (required) — Designation name to create, max 30 characters (used only if Input Mode is structured).
• User IDs — Comma-separated Zoho Cliq user IDs to assign to the new designation upon creation (used only if Input Mode is structured).
• Designation Definition (JSON) (required) — JSON object or string defining designation with keys 'name' and 'user_ids' (used only if Input Mode is raw JSON).

Output shape

a single record representing the created designation object returned from Zoho Cliq API

The response includes designation details, and assigning users to a designation automatically removes their previous one as each user can hold only one designation at a time. Errors can be returned as items if AI error mode is enabled.
