Configuration Interface → Create
AI-generatedSummary
Creates a new network interface record under an existing IT Glue configuration by POSTing to the configuration_interfaces endpoint, and returns the created interface.
Inputs
- Configuration ID (required) — ID of the parent configuration the interface belongs to. Sent as the
configuration-idattribute. - Name — Interface name. Left out of the request if empty.
- IP Address — IP address of the interface. Sent as
ip-address. Left out if empty. - Primary — Boolean, default false. Marks this as the primary interface. Always sent, since false is not an empty value.
- Notes — Free-text notes about the interface. Left out if empty.
Output shape
One item per input item, containing the created interface. Attributes are flattened to camelCase keys (e.g. ipAddress, configurationId), plus id, type, and relationships when IT Glue returns them.
Throws an error if IT Glue returns no data. With Continue On Fail enabled, the item is
{ error: message }instead. Requests that get HTTP 429 are retried up to 3 times. Other API errors are raised as node errors.
Examples
Example 1: Record a new NIC on a server configuration and mark it as the primary interface.
Configuration ID = {{$json.configId}}, Name = 'eth0', IP Address = '10.0.0.15', Primary = true
Example 2: Add a secondary management interface with a note.
Configuration ID = '12345', Name = 'iDRAC', IP Address = '10.0.1.20', Primary = false, Notes = 'Out-of-band management'
