AI-generatedSummary
Updates the notes on an existing IT Glue related-item link by sending a PATCH to the source resource's related_items relationship, and returns the updated record.
Inputs
- Related Item ID (required) — ID of the related item (the relationship) to update. It is appended to the request path.
- Resource Type (required) — Type of the source resource that owns the relationship, such as configurations, contacts, documents, domains, locations, passwords, flexible_assets, ssl_certificates, checklists, checklist_templates or tickets. Used to build the URL path.
- Resource ID (required) — ID of the source resource. Used to build the URL path.
- Notes — New notes text for the relationship. If left empty, no attributes are sent.
Output shape
A single item containing the updated related item, flattened. Attribute names are converted from kebab-case to camelCase, and the item also has id, type and, if present, relationships.
Only Notes can be changed. If Notes is empty, the PATCH is sent with an empty attributes object. It does not fail on its own, and the API may reject it. The node throws an error if Related Item ID, Resource Type or Resource ID is missing, or if IT Glue returns no data. 429 responses are retried up to 3 times. With Continue On Fail enabled, the node outputs an error item instead of stopping.
Examples
Example 1: Correct the note on a link between a configuration and a password.
