Document → Delete
AI-generatedSummary
Deletes a single IT Glue document, document section, or document image by ID via a DELETE request, and returns a success confirmation.
Inputs
- Document Resource (required) — Selects what to delete: Document (default), Section, or Image. Determines the API endpoint (documents, document_sections, document_images) and which ID field is read.
- Document ID (required) — ID of the document. The UI marks it required for Delete, but the runtime only reads it when Document Resource is Document.
- Section ID — ID of the section to delete. Only used, and required at runtime, when Document Resource is Section.
- Image ID — ID of the image to delete. Only used, and required at runtime, when Document Resource is Image.
Output shape
A single item per input item: { success: true, id: "
The IT Glue response body is not returned. The ID is required at runtime, and an empty ID throws an error. API errors (401, 403, 429 and others) are raised as node errors, and 429 responses are retried up to 3 times. With Continue On Fail enabled, the item outputs { error } instead. The UI shows Document ID as required even when deleting a Section or Image, so you may need to enter a placeholder value.
Examples
Example 1: Delete an outdated document by ID taken from a previous step.
Resource: Document, Operation: Delete, Document Resource: Document, Document ID: {{$json.id}}
Example 2: Remove a specific section from a document.
Document Resource: Section, Section ID: 456 (Document ID is still required by the UI; enter any value).
